Life and health coach, twenty-year educator, musician, and someone who learned the hard way that alignment isn’t a destination. It’s a practice.

K–5 teacher, and education leader for college preparation and health care career pathways
I've done this work with my own health on the line, not just from training.
I coach in English and Spanish
I was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador and grew up in Jersey City, NJ. Being raised in a bilingual home and in a highly diverse and multicultural community on the east coast, shaped the lens through which I see the world. It taught me to value others equally and to celebrate and embrace the diversity of languages, ethnicities, cultures and traditions.
My professional experience includes 20 years of working in education in various roles, including as a behavior therapist for children with autism, as a K–5 teacher working with children with special needs and children learning English as a Second Language, and as an education equity leader leading pathway programs focused on diversifying our future healthcare workforce.
I was raised in a beautiful and love home with my dad, Jose, my mom, Lucia, and my brother, Joshua, who taught me the strength of family unity and love. I am deeply grateful to my husband, Mario Martinez, and for his companionship, love and friendship over many years. We have a gorgeous mini-Goldendoodle named Zoey, who is the center of our world.
I love to sing, compose songs, and play the piano, guitar, and ukulele. Since I was a little girl, music has always been an important part of my life. I love jamming out in my car and performing for family and friends. I like to compose faith-based music as well as personalized songs for my family members. Lyrics are important to me, and I look forward to infusing inspirational music into my coaching practice.
I was first introduced to health coaching back in 2017 while working at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. I started meeting with my health coach regularly and through our sessions, I began gaining knowledge and skills on little steps I could take to improve my health. A change there and a tweak there was all it took to see some progress.
In 2019, at thirty-seven years old, I experienced a significant health decline and was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease called Sjogren’s Syndrome. Although it was one of the most challenging seasons I’ve experienced, it marked the beginning of a more holistic, authentic, and fulfilling life.
Over the years, I have remained hopeful and curious as I navigate my own health journey, drastically changing the way I see myself and my body. I’ve learned how to take better care of my physical, mental and emotional health, and have discovered tools such as deep breathing, acupuncture, and mindfulness that have become a significant part of my health maintenance routine.
My motivation to become a life coach is rooted in my primary values of connection and community. I see women as my sisters and I am thrilled to embark on this journey, supporting them to reconnect with their inner compass, and to live more aligned, purposeful lives.
The first conversation is free, thirty minutes, and entirely about you.
